Coding Tools & Software
The following tools are our recommendations for programming / creating websites and web designs. We either use them ourselves or have always heard good things about them and can therefore recommend them with a clear conscience.
Visual Studio Code
Visual Studio Code is a powerful coding software made by Microsoft. It can be used to write code in multiple different programming lanugages like C#, C++, Java, HTML, CSS and many more. This is possible, among other things, by installing plugins. These can extend the editor with many useful functions.
Atom Code Editor
Atom is also a powerful software for coding like Visual Studio Code. It can be expanded with a lot of different plugins (called packages). In addition to the support of other programming languages, Atom can also add further gimics such as an internal browser or a funny click timer.
Atom is open source and completely free to use.
Filezilla - FTP Client
FileZilla is not directly using for Coding. But regulary you need to upload your created page to a webserver. Most people use file transfer software for this purpose. We are using FileZilla for transferring files between our pc to our webservers. It’s easy and free to use and support the FTP / SFTP Protocol.
XAMPP
XAMPP is a grateful tool create and test your websites locally. XAMPP creates a local webserver running on Apache. You can use it for testing and developing websites using PHP or Javascript locally before you use it online. XAMPP is free to use and available for Windows, Linux and MacOS.

HTML Color Codes
Htmlcolorcode.com is our favorite site when it comes to getting color codes for HTML. The website is free, easy to use, modern and clean. The color code can be rendered in different color values: HEX, RGB, HSL, CMYK
Pixabay
Pixabay is the ultimate image archive if you are looking for free images. There is a large selection of different images that can be used free of charge for private as well as commercial purposes and can usually be used without naming the author (to be checked in each individual case).

Trello
Trello is probably one of the most popular tools when it comes to planning projects. The basic version is free and a number of projects (boards) can be created. Within these, tasks can be created and assigned to other members.
Nextcloud
Nextcloud is perfect if you want to have your own cloud. You can either use Nextcloud hosting or run Nextcloud for free on your own web server. The cloud runs on PHP and MySQL and is easy to install and set up. Whether used as a file storage location, email client or even project planning. Nextcloud offers a wealth of practical features.
